TICKET TOUTS WON’T HIT A BULLSEYE AT LAKESIDE
Written by BDO Wednesday, 19 September 2007

Tickets for the 2008 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships are in such great demand that they are already being offered by ticket touts and on websites at inflated prices.

But those doing so are being clearly warned that such tickets will not gain entry to ‘the home of world darts’ next January.

Everyone buying tickets for the BBC televised World Championships are asked to sign an undertaking that if tickets are sold on to a third-party at more than face value, or if they are offered on auction sites at inflated prices, they will be invalidated by Lakeside and no refunds given.

Action has already been taken against individuals selling tickets in this way.

“Tickets for all 9 days of the Championships are in great demand and they are security coded so that we can track them easily”, says Austin Brown of Lakeside. “2008 will be our 23rd year of staging the greatest Championships in world darts, and these measures are in place to stamp out any profiteering that might prevent genuine darts fans from obtaining tickets at the correct price”.

The 2008 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships will be staged and promoted by the British Darts Organisation at Lakeside Country Club, and televised by BBC TV Sport, from January 5th to 13th, 2008.
